I go in here every so often to take out and return books and generally only stay a few minutes. They have a reasonable selection of detective and fantasy/sci fi books, but no books in the various other languages I read, though there are some in Urdu (which I unfotunately do not). They sometimes have children's groups. While I think this is a good idea, they are unfortunately very noisy. Most of the staff are very helpful, but there are exceptions. In general I do not find it particularly quiet, but ok to go in and out quickly. Unfortunately, on occasion including this recent visit I have had internet problems at home and come to send urgent emails. This was the case on my recent visit. I got online quickly and managed to send all my emails, but it was very very noisy - books being thumped down both at the desk and on the shelves and I wear ear plugs and ear defenders. I had gone to the back in the hope it was quieter, but a member of staff was replacing books on the shelves near me. I asked them if they could do this later or at least be much quieter, but ended up having to find another space which was not great. I also have had problems in December (probably also end of November) when they have lights on at the issue desk and lights on a tree. I have asked them to turn them off briefly, but have not got a positive response and have ended up having to approach the desk with my eyes closed and to face the other direction or keep my eyes closed while my books are issue. Having unnecessary lights on is also, of course, a waste of energy and cause unnecessary greenhouse gas emission.
